Oh my poor abandoned tumblr page. :(
Dear Fresh Direct,
Your offer for free delivery service on Labor Day is tempting indeed; however, why are your workers working on Labor Day? I hope they will be given another day to take as a personal day at a later date or at the very least “time and half”. Have we forgotten the true meaning of Labor Day? Are you honoring your workers social and economic contributions by having them schlep groceries to the 4th floor walk-up residences of office workers? Perhaps we can all live with the inconvenience of not having delivery service for one day of the year. I know I can.
Regards,
Bluishtree
What Happened to This Sentiment?
No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By living wages I mean more than bare subsistence level. I mean wages of decent living.

The History of Federal Student Loan Interest Rates: A Timeline of Events
Here’s the full history.
Interest Rates
What does it say about our system that mortgage interest rates are lower than student loan interest rates? Says to me that some people want to keep all of the money to themselves and perhaps not educate the poor.
The Right To Be Lazy by Paul Lafargue, 1883
A convincing argument for a shortened work week that still rings true today.
